1. Who this page is for
Many schools that use C3NTR teach children. This page explains what C3NTR is and is not, how a school controls who can see its content, and what to do if you have a concern about something on the platform. It is written for school leaders, instructors, parents and guardians. C3NTR is developed and operated by andBeyond.digital Ltd.
2. What C3NTR is
C3NTR is a knowledge and curriculum platform. A school uses it to publish its own articles, glossary terms, video and audio, announcements and events to its members, and to unlock content by grade. Members can read, watch, listen, mark favourites and see their own reading progress. School leaders can see aggregate figures for how the school's content is used.
3. What C3NTR is not
- It is not instruction or coaching. Content is authored by the school. Nothing in the app replaces supervision by a qualified instructor, and students should not attempt techniques outside the setting their school directs.
- It is not a messaging app. See section 4.
- It is not a safeguarding record system. See section 7.
- It is not a supervision or monitoring tool. It does not track a member's location or activity outside the app.
4. No private messaging
C3NTR has no private messaging, chat, direct messages, comments, forums, likes or follows. There is no way for one member to contact another through the platform, and no way for a member to publish anything that other members can read.
Only school staff (school leaders, school admins and instructors) can publish content and announcements, and only to the members of their own school. A student's own writing in the app is limited to their profile, their favourites, their reading progress, their notification settings, their response to an event invitation, and feedback sent to us.
Event responses ("going", "maybe", "can't go") are visible to the school's staff. Other members can see them only if the school turns on the public attendance list for an event. That setting is off by default.
5. Members under 18
You must be 18 or over to create or administer a school on C3NTR. Members under 18 are enrolled by their school. When a school enrols anyone under 18, it confirms to us that it has the authority of a parent or guardian to do so, and that it has given members and their parents or guardians the privacy information they need. Our Privacy Policy explains what the app collects.
C3NTR does not currently record a member's age or whether a parent has been told. We plan to add an age band to each invitation, a guardian contact for younger members, and higher-privacy defaults for those accounts. Until then, the school holds that information.
6. Removing a member immediately
A school leader or admin can remove any member at any time. In the app, open the member list, open the person's profile and choose Suspend; in the web portal roster, choose Remove. Their access to the school's content ends within the hour, when their current session token expires. If the person held a staff role, that role is revoked at the same time.
Removing a member does not delete their personal account or their memberships of other schools. If a school needs a member's account deleted as well, write to info@c3ntr.app.
7. Your school keeps its own records
C3NTR is not a safeguarding record system and must not be used as one. A school should keep its own records of safeguarding concerns, attendance, grading, membership and medical information in the system it already uses for that purpose, and must not rely on C3NTR as the only record of any of them. C3NTR has no safeguarding-notes feature (staff can add a short note to a grading record, which is not the place for safeguarding information), and nothing in the app should be treated as a disclosure log.
8. If a child is at immediate risk
If you believe a child is in immediate danger, contact the police on 999 or your local authority's children's services. Do not report an emergency to us. We are a software company, not an emergency service, and we cannot act quickly enough in that situation.
9. Reporting a concern about the platform
If you have a safeguarding concern that involves C3NTR itself, for example content published to a school, the way an account is being used, or something you have seen in the app, email info@c3ntr.app with the subject "Safeguarding". We acknowledge every safeguarding report within 1 working day.
Please tell us, as far as you can:
- the name of the school
- what you saw, with a link or screenshot if you have one
- who is involved, if you know
- how we can reach you
You can also report content that is wrong or harmful through our content reporting route.
10. What we do when we receive a report
- We suspend the content or the account in question while we look into it.
- We notify the school leader, unless doing so would put someone at risk.
- We keep a written log of the report, what we did and when.
- We share information with the police or a local authority where the law requires or permits us to.
We will tell you what happened once we have looked into it, so far as we are able to without sharing someone else's personal information.
