Attendance & RSVP
Attendance lets members say whether they're coming to an event. It's off by default — turn it on per school when you want a sense of numbers ahead of a class or grading. We've built it privacy-first: counts stay anonymous to students, names are visible only to staff, and members can remove their response any time.
Turn on RSVP for your school
Open the Today tab, tap the three-dot menu in the top-right, and open the calendar settings.
Turn on Let members RSVP. From now on, every event shows the Going / Maybe / Can't go choice on its detail screen.
Turn the setting off again at any time. Existing responses are kept but hidden until you switch it back on.
How members respond
On the event detail screen, members tap one of three choices:
- Going — they plan to attend.
- Maybe — they're not sure yet.
- Can't go — they won't make it.
Members see only the counts, not who chose what — for example "12 going". They can change their answer, or remove it entirely, whenever they like — tapping the choice they've already picked clears it.
Members don't have to open an event to reply. A long-press on any event card brings up a quick menu with the same three choices, and once they've answered, a small marker shows on the event card, in search results, and on the Up Next home widget. An event a member marks Can't go drops off their Up Next widget.
For a recurring class, replying asks whether the answer applies to just this event or all occurrences, so a member can confirm the whole term in one tap or reply to a single date.
What staff see
School leaders, admins and instructors see the names behind the counts, grouped by Going, Maybe and Can't go. That helps you plan space and equipment, and spot who hasn't replied. Students never see this list — only the totals.
When a teacher covers a single session of a class, they're counted as Going for that date automatically. See Today tab & calendar.
Privacy
We designed RSVP to respect members. Responses are personal data, so:
- Counts shown to students are anonymous — no names, no breakdown by person.
- Only staff see who responded, and only within your school.
- Members can remove their response at any time, which deletes it.
- When a member leaves the school or deletes their account, their responses go with them.

FAQ
Is RSVP on by default?
No. It's off until a school leader turns it on. Schools that don't want it never see the choice on events.
Can students see who else is coming?
No. Students see a count, like "12 going", but never the names. Only staff see who responded.
Can a member change their mind?
Yes. They can switch between Going, Maybe and Can't go, or remove their response entirely, at any time.
