Locations

School leaders & instructors

A location is a venue where your school teaches — a hall, a studio, a park. Set one up once with a photo, an address and a map link, and you can link it to any event. The venue's teacher fills onto events automatically, and members can browse where classes are held.

Create a location

Location editor with cover photo, address and map link fields

Open the user menu and tap Locations under your school's settings.

Tap Add location. Give it a name, like "Main hall" or "Riverside studio".

Add a cover photo, the address, and a Google Maps link so members can find their way there.

Assign one or more teachers to the venue — the instructors who usually teach there.

Tap Save. The location is ready to link to events.

Link a location to an event

When you create or edit an event, choose a venue from the Location field. The event shows the venue's name and map link on its detail screen, and the venue's assigned teacher fills onto the event for you. You can still change the teacher on any single event if someone else is covering — see Attendance & RSVP.

Good to know

Set the teacher on the venue once, and every class there starts with the right name attached. You only change it on the events that differ.

How members see locations

Member view of the locations list with venue cards

Members can browse your school's locations read-only. Each venue shows its photo, address and map link, so a new student can see where to go before their first class. Members can't create or edit venues — that stays with school leaders and instructors.

Preferred locations

Each member can mark the venues they usually go to as preferred. On the locations list, every venue card has a star — tap it to add or remove the venue. Members can also set this from a venue's detail screen (the menu offers Add to preferred / Remove preferred) or from a Preferred locations row in Edit profile.

Preferred venues surface first when the member browses locations, and they can tap the My locations chip in the events filter to show only events at those venues. The Up Next home widget leans towards classes at their venues too. This is per member — it changes only their own view, never the venue itself or what other members see.

Edit or remove a location

Open a location to change its photo, address, map link or teachers. To remove a venue, open it and tap the red bin icon. Events already linked to it keep the details they had; new events won't be able to choose it.

FAQ

Who can create locations?

School leaders, school admins, and instructors can create and edit locations. Members see them read-only.

Do I have to add a map link?

No. A name is enough to link a venue to an event. The photo, address and map link are there to help members find the place, so they're worth adding when you can.

Can a school have more than one location?

Yes. Add as many venues as you teach at. Each event links to one of them.
