Storage & cache
3 min readC3NTR caches content on your device so you can read offline and load articles faster. Here is how to manage it.
How caching works
Every article you open is saved to your device automatically. The next time you open it, it loads instantly, even without an internet connection.
In the background, C3NTR checks for updated content and refreshes stale articles. You do not need to do anything for this to happen.
Save All Content
If you want every article available offline, turn on Save All Content in Settings > Storage & Cache.
When enabled, the app downloads all articles over Wi-Fi. Downloads are throttled to avoid draining your battery. Mobile data is never used for bulk downloads.
The storage screen
Go to Settings > Storage & Cache to see:
- Last Synced — When content was last checked for updates.
- Save All Content — Toggle for offline downloads.
- Offline Content — How many articles are cached.
- Total Storage — A colour-coded bar showing how much device space C3NTR uses, broken down by type (articles, images, videos).
- Edit History — Visible to school leaders. Shows recent changes to content.
If your device is running low on space, you can clear cached articles from this screen. They will re-download the next time you open them.
Pull to refresh
On the Explore tab, pull down to refresh and check for new content. A snackbar appears when new items are available.
