Branding & theme
Make C3NTR feel like your school. Choose your brand colour, swap the hero photo, upload your logo, and see changes appear for every member straight away.
Where to find these settings
Branding controls live in three places:
- Settings > Colour and theme — Theme (Dark / Light), accent colour, button text, and surface depth. The phone preview at the top updates in real time as you adjust each control.
- Settings > School details — School name, what you teach, school website URL, and logo.
- Settings > Hero — The full hero card editor: cover photo, logo, heading, subheading, and heading alignment. The same screen opens from the home screen — tap your logo on Home.
If you're still in the setup wizard, Step 2 covers the logo + hero and Step 3 covers colour + theme — same controls in both places.
Pick a colour
Your accent colour appears across the app: in buttons, highlights, the centre nav button, and active tab indicators. The Colour and theme screen shows seven swatches:
- Six presets — A balanced spread of cool, warm, and neutral options. Tap one to apply it.
- Custom colour — The seventh swatch on the right. It shows a rainbow gradient until you pick a custom colour, then becomes that colour with a small pencil pip so you can tap to change.
The dialog includes a hex input if you have a specific brand colour to match. C3NTR picks the right contrast for button text automatically.
Dark or light mode
Toggle between Dark and Light at the top of Colour and theme. The toggle pill itself previews the choice — Light shows as a white pill, Dark as near-black — so you can see the result before you tap. The change applies to every member's device.
Dark mode works well for schools that train in low-light environments. Light mode tends to feel more open and suits schools with bright, airy spaces.
Button text
Buttons use text over your brand colour. You have three options:
- Auto — C3NTR picks white or dark text based on your colour's brightness.
- Light — Always use white text on buttons.
- Dark — Always use dark text on buttons.
Auto works well for most schools.
Surface depth
The Surface depth slider brightens or darkens the background tint behind your content. Slide left for a deeper, more saturated feel; slide right for a lighter, airier surface. The preview updates as you drag.
Hero photo
The hero photo is the large banner at the top of your home screen. C3NTR ships with a small set of built-in hero photos — one per discipline — so a brand-new school always has a sensible default before you upload your own.
To swap it, tap Change Hero on the wizard's Step 2 or the Hero settings screen. The picker has three tabs:
- Hero — The bundled discipline photos that ship with the app. Tap any to apply it.
- Recent — Photos you've uploaded for this school recently.
- Photos — Your phone's photo library, plus a "Choose a file" button for iCloud Drive or any other source the iOS Files app exposes.
After uploading, tap Reposition Hero to pan and zoom so the most important part of the photo stays visible. Tap Done when you're happy.
Heading and subheading
The heading sits over the hero photo above your logo on the home screen. Subheading shows underneath in a lighter weight. Both are optional — leave them blank to render just the logo.
The justification toggle to the right of the heading field aligns the whole group (logo + heading + subheading) to the left, centre, or right of the hero card. Centre is the default and works for most schools; left or right can suit a logo that has clear directional weight.
Logo
Your logo appears on the home screen above the school name, and as a small icon in the snapped top bar when you scroll down. From the wizard's Step 2, the Hero settings screen, or School details:
- Edit — Crop the logo or remove the background (iOS 17 and later).
- Change — Open the same Hero / Recent / Photos picker described above to upload a new image.
For best results, use a square image with a transparent background. PNG and SVG both work; SVG keeps the edges crisp at every size.
School name, website, and discipline
All three live on the Settings > School details screen. The discipline picker uses the same inline chip layout as the wizard — tap a category to select it, tap the active one again to clear and re-pick. The website URL field is the same one the wizard uses for branding extraction; once set, a small globe icon appears in the side menu next to the share button so members can open your site in one tap. Changing the name updates it across the app for every member. Changing the discipline updates template suggestions, the bundled hero default, and AI draft context.
