Offline access

3 min read

C3NTR caches articles as you read them, so you can come back to them without an internet connection. You can also download everything at once over Wi-Fi.

Automatic caching

Every article you open is saved to your device automatically. The next time you open that article, it loads from cache whether you are online or offline.

The app checks for updates in the background. If an article has been edited since you last read it, the cache is refreshed so you always see the latest version.

Download all content

If you want every article available offline, you can enable auto-download.

Open Settings from the profile menu.

Tap Storage & Cache.

Turn on Save All Content.

Storage and Cache settings screen

Downloads happen only when you are connected to Wi-Fi. The app works through articles at a steady pace to avoid draining your battery.

Tip

This is useful if you know you will be without internet for a while, such as travelling to a seminar or training camp.

Offline indicator

When your device loses internet, a small offline banner appears at the top of the screen. You can still browse and read all cached content. The banner disappears when you reconnect.

When you come back online, the app checks for new or updated content. If anything has changed, a snackbar appears to let you know.

Background freshness

C3NTR watches for content changes while the app is open. If your school leader updates an article you have cached, the app re-downloads it in the background. You do not need to do anything. The next time you open that article, you see the latest version.

Storage screen

The Storage & Cache screen in Settings gives you an overview of what is on your device:

Note

Search works offline too. Keyword search finds cached articles and terms on your device. Semantic search also works offline once the AI model has been loaded at least once while online.
