Announcements
Announcements let you send important messages to your whole school. Members receive a push notification and can read the message in their Updates tab.
Create an announcement
Go to the Updates tab (the fifth tab) and tap the + button.
Enter a title and a body. The body supports Markdown formatting, so you can add bold text, links, and lists.
Optionally, set a minimum grade. Only members at or above this grade will see the announcement.
Tap Send. A push notification goes out to all eligible members.
Edit an announcement
Tap any announcement you created to open it, then tap Edit in the top bar. You have two options when saving:
- Quiet update — Saves the changes without sending a new notification. Good for fixing a typo.
- Update and resend — Saves the changes and sends a fresh push notification to all eligible members.
Where members see announcements
Members see announcements in the Updates tab. Unread announcements show a badge on the tab icon. The most recent announcement appears first.
Swipe right on an announcement to mark it as read. Swipe left to mark it as unread. Long-press enters select mode for bulk actions.
Track who has read it
Each announcement tracks which members have opened it. This data feeds into the analytics dashboard as an open rate, showing you what percentage of eligible members read the message.
Bulk actions
Long-press an announcement to enter select mode. You can then select multiple announcements and mark them all as read, mark them as unread, or delete them.
Keep announcements short and focused. If you need to share detailed information, write an article and link to it from the announcement body.
